Grey Owl - Wild Rice
Wild rice was a nutritious dietary supplement for the natives of North America, in the areas around what is called "the Great Lakes". The name of this product comes from the Chief Grey Owl who was played by Pierce Brosnan in the 1999 film (trailer at the top of this page). The rice is bought from the natives of this region and it is harvested by them, often with canoes they paddle out with.
Today, wild rice is a sought after delicacy. It is used for soups, meat, fish and birds, but you can eat it with almost anything you want.
